Long-tailed Goral is inhabits the Hunganryung Mountains in northeastern China, the Far East of Russia and the Korean peninsula. It's called fossil animal, because it keeps many of the characteristics of its acient ancestors.

Since the Armistice treaty was made in 1953, DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) which is 155 miles long from east to west of middle area of Korean peninsular is the natural restoration zone without direct human interference for 57 years up to now. Therefore, if Korea plans to restore the wildlife sacrificed due to the economic growth in South of armistice line until now, it's very important area for the biodiversty of wildlife to be restored.
